About Lighthouse Arts

Lighthouse Arts is an initiative of the Hunter Writers’ Centre created to support and promote a healthy, vibrant and diverse creative arts culture in the Hunter region. It offers various programs and spaces for artists and writers to develop their craft, including artist and writer residencies, an exhibition space, and an arts trading store.

This initiative was made possible through funding from City of Newcastle Industry Response Taskforce and with support of the Port Authority of NSW. It serves as both a response to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and a long-term effort to strengthen the arts culture in the Hunter region. The Hunter Writers’ Centre is supported by Create NSW
