My experience as part of the inaugural group of artists-in residence at Lighthouse Arts was truly unique. The physicality of the location immediately drew me in and as the weeks went by it became more apparent that being there would lead to a development of ideas for artworks. The sanctity of having a private space meant I was able to focus on my work while being connected to the elements outside. Thus far I have created a body of watercolour sketches which will become part of a series of prints. As a member of the Newcastle Printmakers Workshop I believe this is a great opportunity for artist printmakers to immerse themselves in and I thank all those who have made it possible.
