As a painter of ships and all things maritime, the position and subject matter was perfect.
I enjoyed residing in Newcastle, my host family were so hospitable, working and meeting other artists, it was a great place to immerse myself in my work away from home.
It can be windy but that just adds to the drama. I look forward to returning next year.
