EXHIBITION: Home

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: ‘Home’ Exhibition

What does ‘Home’ mean to you? Somewhere safe and cozy to curl up with a book? Laughter and a shared meal? Your own body?

Maybe Home for you is close by, or maybe it’s a distant land – or lost forever. Perhaps it’s an idea or a memory, culture or Country, a language or a plate of food. Or perhaps Home is something that can only be expressed in the abstract or intangible.

Lighthouse Arts is inviting artists of all skill levels and mediums to share their feelings of ‘Home’ in our upcoming exhibition. Running for 8-weeks this exhibition will show in cottage 1 at Nobbys-Whibayganba headland, once a home to the site’s Lighthouse Keeper.

We’re looking for pieces that reflect a variety of practices and perspectives —whether it’s a polished masterpiece, a rough sketch, a journal entry, or something in between.

We have space for around 40 pieces (depending on size and our hanging system), we aim to curate an exhibition that reflects the richness of the Hunter’s creative community.

All forms are welcome—be it writing, small studies, works-in-progress, or finished pieces. And, if you’re up for it, we’d love for your works to be available for sale.

Join us in celebrating the many understandings of Home in our diverse and vibrant community. Let’s make our Headland feel like Home!
